Hi, I'm April Gonzales, M.S, LMFT.
I would like to share some things with you about my professional self. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have found great joy working with individuals, children, and families. I completed my bachelor's degree at San Francisco State University and my master's degree at California State University, Fullerton. So far, my professional focuses have included working with foster youth, active-duty military, retired military, and military families; however, I enjoy working with all people. I have helped adults and children with stress, depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, and struggles with aggression, communication, parenting, or personal self-care. I identify mostly as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, but I pull from other different therapeutic techniques and strategies such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and strength-based techniques. Now let me tell you a little about my personal self. I'm a San Diego native and 4th generation Japanese American (Yonsei). Born and raised in San Diego, my husband being a Navy Veteran and my father an Army Veteran, I have an affinity for the military. I'm especially close with my family and because of our cultural values, our gatherings are always food centric. I enjoy hiking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I try to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle and believe that physical and mental health are connected and affect one another, which is part of my therapeutic approach. I'm an animal lover and dream to have my own animal sanctuary.

Hello Hello!
My name is Melody Gorczyca. I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family therapy from University of the West. As a clinician I view the client as the expert on their experiences and aim to provide support on their journey to whole-person healing. I take an eclectic approach to treatment, using tools from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths Based, and Person-Centered modalities. This outlook on therapy helps me gain a better understanding of my clients and tailor treatment toward their strengths. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and families from all backgrounds. Together we adventure through a variety of experiences such as: anxiety, depression, grief, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, stress, and life changes. I believe we all need someone to share our hardships with- someone that will walk beside us and help us hurdle life’s obstacles. My philosophy is that change is facilitated as we develop a stronger understanding of ourselves; personal transformation occurs when we foster awareness of our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and triggers while implementing new skills learned in therapy.
